Cuma dia tak cakap la pulak Acer rubrum. Acer spp yang lain..

About Acer campestre. Got the link from http://www.ebay.com/itm/Red-Maple-Acer-rubrum-Northern-Fall-Colors-Tree-Seed-/270678407035. As said that :

Sowing Acer rubrum Seeds:
Scarification, Cold Stratification and moisture enhance germination.
Scarify: Soak in warm water for 24 hours
Stratify: Cold 30 days, 40 Degrees F in a Moist Medium.
Germination: Sow 1/4” Deep

Nak ikut yang mana… Fikir-fikir.. Renung-renung..

Salam perkenalan Mr. Acer.. Kamukan handsome tree.. Red maple..Daun merah-merah.. buat gula sirap… uh.. Semoga kamu hidup dengan baik bila saya semai nanti.. Amin.. Nurul kena tanam beberapa tempat asing untuk cuba. Dengan jumlah biji benih yang terhad,, Harus hati-hati, jimat cermat… =)

Contoh penerangan dan sumber yang lain untuk rujukan semula akan datang…

How to Grow

Red maple thrives everywhere apart from very dry or thin alkaline soils. It does particularly well in the wet, even surviving waterlogged soils. Although it grows satisfactorily on chalk or limestone if there is a good soil depth, it will not colour up as well as on acid or neutral soils.

Being North American, it can be relied upon to be bone-hardy anywhere in the British Isles. Unlike the sycamore or Norway maple, it does not scatter vast numbers of its seedlings over the garden.

Young trees are readily available, but the adventurous, who may want to try it as a hedge (perhaps on very wet soil), will want lots of young plants at a cheaper price. Seed is the answer: sown in autumn, it germinates readily in spring.

Young plants can be potted up or lined out in a nursery bed; they should be big enough to plant out at the end of their second year. It is also possible to propagate the tree from cuttings, taken from soft or ripening young shoots in early summer – but as with many maples, the success rate is low.

Fill a 6-inch-diameter or larger flower pot with potting soil for each tree you want to grow. Plant three or four seeds near the center of the pot, 1/4 to 1 inch deep. Plant the whole wing, called a samara. You don’t need to remove the seed from its papery covering. Water the potting soil so it’s evenly moist and place the pot in a location at room temperature.

Water the seeds lightly. Do not saturate the soil. Keep it moist to help with germination. Germination begins in only 2 to 6 days, according to the U.S. Forest Service.Space red maples trees 14 to 20 feet apart. If planting the tree in rows, space the rows 16 to 24 feet apart. Avoid planting the red maple seeds in a shady location or the seedlings’ growth will be slowed. Seeds planted in full shade may not germinate until the following year. Laying aluminum foil mulch around the seedlings also can increase the seedlings’ survival, according to the U.S. Forest Service. A red maple tree can produce between 12,000 and 91,000 seeds yearly, according to the U.S. Forest Service
